Non-implementation of ACP Scheme to PGTs

To

The Director of Education,
Andaman and Nicobar Islands,
Port Blair.

Sub: Non-implementation of ACP Scheme to PGTs - regarding.
Sir,

I am to invite your kind attention towards this Association’s letter of even number dated 24th November, 2008 on the above subject (copy enclosed for kind reference). It is regretted to state that neither the Post Graduate Teachers have been extended the benefits under ACP Scheme nor any reply given to this Association on the reason for denial of the said benefit to the affected teachers.

As pointed out to you earlier, the cases in which Senior Scale/Selection Scale have been granted to teachers on or after 9th August, 1999 should be reviewed in the light of the Guidelines envisaged in the ACP Scheme. It has been noticed that the Directorate of Education, on illogical and illegal grounds, continue to deny the benefits of ACP to the eligible teachers.

The Central Secretariat of this Association in its meeting held at Port Blair recently reviewed the above issue and decided to launch agitation throughout the islands demanding grant of financial benefits under ACP Scheme to all the Post Graduate Teachers.

I would, therefore, once again request you to take necessary action to grant financial benefits under ACP Scheme to all the eligible Post Graduate Teachers immediately so as to avoid agitation by the teachers on this issue.

Yours faithfully,

(D. Ayyappan)
General Secretary
