Non availability of Flights in Chennai & Kolkatta Sector

Hundreds of government employees of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and their family members who have to visit their home towns on the mainland or to visit mainland for various purpose, are stranded in the islands due to non-availability of flight tickets (.) Indian Airlines is operating one flight each from Chennai and Kolkata to Port Blair daily which is insufficient to meet the summer vacation rush here (.) No additional flight between Port Blair and Kolkata/Chennai sector has been announced by the Indian Airlines so far (.) Tickets are also not available even for patients referred to mainland hospitals (.) Government servants are forced to buy tickets from private airlines on exorbitant fare (.) Government employees are in an agitated mood here (.) This Association seek your kind intervention to have some additional flights by Indian Airlines between Chennai-Port Blair and Kolkata – Port Blair in order to ease the summer vacation rush in the above sectors (.) Action taken in the matter may kindly be intimated to this Association urgently (.)
