The Non-Gazetted Government Officers’ Association,
Andaman and Nicobar Islands has decided to postpone the proposed agitation in
front of the Secretariat on 25th September, 2013 for the immediate
restructuring of the Amalgamated Stenographic
Cadre of the A & N Administration.
The decision to postone the
agitation was taken following an assurance given by the Administration to the
Association that the issue regarding the restructuring of the Stenographic
Cadre is under active consideration of the Administration. In a letter sent to the General Secretary of
the Association, the Deputy Secretary (Perl), A & N Administration has intimated that “a proposal in this regard
has since been prepared by the Personnel Wing and being moved for its
concurrence by Finance Department before obtaining the approval of the
competent authority.” The Administration
has requested the General Secretary of the Association to withdraw the
agitation in view of the above position.
