International Women's Day

To mark the centenary year of the International Women’s Day, a function was organized at Crusade House, Phoenix Bay by the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association on 08.03.2011 at 06.00 p.m. Speaking on the occasion, Smti. Rekha Sharma, Organising Secretary, NGOs’ Association traced the origin of the Women’s movement in the World. Smti Nazreen Begum, Organising Secretary, South Andaman Teachers’ Branch pointed out the inequalities in the society and the exploitation of the women in the country.

Smti Padma Vasudevan who presided over the function, stressed the need to eradicate illiteracy among women.
