Delegation of SATB meets the Secretary-cum-Director of Education to discuss various issues of teachers

A delegation of the South Andaman Teachers’ Branch of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association met the Secretary-cum-Director of Education   on 13^th May, 2016 and discussed with her various issues concerning the teachers working under the Education Department which included (i) Ad-hoc regularization of teachers from initial date of appointments (ii) Grant of ISDA to teachers during summer vacation, (iii) Grant of Part-B upgraded pay to the remaining categories of teachers (iv) Proper utilization of Teacher’s Welfare Fund (v) Posting of regular Principals, Vice Principals & Head Masters in schools (vi) Preparing an yearly Academic Calendar for schools , etc. The Secretary-cum-Director of Education assured the delegation for taking necessary steps to resolve the issues and sought more time for a detailed discussion on certain issues which require policy decisions. She informed the delegation that certain issues like promotion in various categories, confirmation of teachers etc. are already under consideration. The members of the delegation were Shri P.Satyapal, President, Shri R.Surendran Pillai, Asst. General Secretary of the Association and Shri S.L.Vinjit, Secretary, Shri H.B.Choudhary, Joint Secreatry & Shri Sasi Kumar, Treaurer of the South Andaman Teachers’ Branch.
