PRESS STATEMENT
A delegation of the Non-Gazetted Govt.
Officers’ Association led by its General Secretary Shri D. Ayyappan met the Director
of Fisheries, Andaman and Nicobar
Islands recently and discussed with him
various issues and demands of
employees working in the Fisheries Department. The demands/issues discussed in the meeting
with the Director of Fisheries include (1) grant of Night Duty Allowance to all
the eligible employees (2) implementation of the enhanced rate of Risk
Allowance (3) Immediate supply of liveries to staff (4) overtime allowance to
those perform overtime work (5) more promotional channel for employees, (6)
providing basic facilities like drinking water, furniture, etc. The Director of Fisheries was kind enough to
assure the delegation that the demands raised by the Association will be
examined and action taken immediately.
The other members of the delegation of the Association were R.
Rajendran, Central Organising Secretary and Loknath Mondal, Vice President and
G. Shibu, Secretary of the Fisheries Sub-Committee and PB Ajit Kumar.
