Delegate Session of the Annual Conference

The Delegate Session of the Annual Conference of the Non-Gazetted Government Officers’ Association was held today (19.02.2012) at Kerala Samajam Hall, Port Blair. In his presidential address, Shri SC Biswas, President of the Association recalled the historical struggles conducted by the Association in the past. The Delegate Session, at the outset, paid homage to the memory of former leaders of the Association and other government employees, who passed away during the period since last Conference in April, 2011. Thereafter, Shri D. Ayyappan, General Secretary presented the working report of the Association for the last one year while Shri Clement Steephen, Finance Secretary of the Association presented the Audited Accounts. Delegates actively participated in the discussion on the General Secretary’s Report and Audited Accounts which were later on adopted unanimously.

Addressing the Delegate Session, Shri MS Raja, Secretary, Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, New Delhi and Member, JCM National Council, Govt. of India, said that the central government continues to neglect the various demands raised by the Staff Side in the National Anomaly Committee and JCM National Committee. He further said that the central government has done injustice to the Lower Grade Clerks and Higher Grade Clerks working under the central government including under the A & N Administration and asked the employees in the islands to strengthen the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers to fight for achieving this demand. He assured the Delegate Session that he will place various demands of the employees of these islands before the JCM and the Govt. of India. The Conference discussed and adopted a large number of resolutions on various issues and problems affecting the government employees. About 160 delegates and observers from various outstations and Port Blair/South Andaman, representing thousands of employees, attended the Delegate Session. Shri AK Sharma proposed Vote of thanks.
