Evening Mass Dharna in support of call by Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, New Delhi






The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, A & N Islands today (07.11.2016) organised an Evening Mass Dharna at Tiranga Park, Port Blair as part of 2nd phase of  nationwide agitation programme called by   Confederation of Central Govt.  Employees & Workers, New Delhi. The Association organised the programme against non-implementation of the assurances given by Group of Ministers to NJCA on 30th June, 2016 regarding increase in minimum wages and fitment factor, retaining various allowances etc. of govt. employees. Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary of the Association, Shri T.S.Sreekumar highlighted the demands put before the government by the NJCA and demanded for immediate impemention of the assurance given by the Group of Ministers on 30th June, 2016 regarding the revision Minimum Wage and Fitment formula. Earlier, inaugurating the Dharna, Shri B.Chandrachoodan, General Secretary, CITU expressed concern over the negative attitude of the government in accepting the genuine demands of the government servants. He asked the administration to implement in true spirit the Supreme Court’s recent ruling in regard to the grant of “Equal Pay for Equal Work” to all the Casual and Daily Rated employees working in various departments. Shri S.L.Vinjit, Secretary, South Andaman Teachers’ Branch also spoke on the occasion. A large number of employees including women employees participated in the programme. Shri D.S.Clement Stephen, Finance Secretary of the Association expressed vote of thanks. Similar programmes were also organised at outstations including Diglipur and Billyground. In Diglipur, hundreds of employees participated in a Massive Demonstration organised in front of AC’s Office, Diglipur. Shri Gopal Chandra Dey, Shri Madan and Shri S.Arumugam spoke on the occasion. A mass demonstration was organised at Billyground where Shri Satyaban Gain, Shri S.Bawali, Shri S.R.Mirdha and Shri Prosenjit Roy addressed the gathering.
