The General Body Meeting of the Rural Development Sub-Committee of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association was
held today (15.03.2014) at Crusade
House, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair under the
chairmanship of Shri Vikash Mandal. Employees of the Rural Development
Department posted at South Andaman area attended the meeting. The employees
expressed satisfaction that a number
of their demands which were pending for a long period have been solved after the same were taken up by the
Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association
with the Director (Rural Development) and A & N Administration. Addressing the meeting, Shri D. Ayyappan,
General Secretary of the Association assured the employees that their remaining
demands and issues will also be taken up with the authorities concerned for
solution. Referring to the 15-point Charter of Demands of the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, New
Delhi, Shri Ayyappan said that major demands like merger of
50% DA with pay, grant of Interim Relief, etc.
have not been considered by the
Govt. of India despite nation-wide struggles
conducted by various Unions/Association of government employees. Addressing the meeting, Shri HL Prasad, Vice
President of the Association asked the employees of the Rural Development
Department to remain part of the
Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association.
