Association was released at a function held at Hotel ACC, Mohanpura, Port Blair today

Govt. Officers’ Association in the islands for achieving various demands of the
government employees. Recalling the pathetic condition under which the government
employees had to work in the
islands several decades ago, Shri Basu
Kumar said it was only due to the coming together of the employees and workers
under the leadership of late PKS Prasad, veteran trade union leader of these
islands, that the situation improved. However, he called upon the government
employees to work with dedication and sincerity to help their co-workers and
general public. Referring to the changing trend of people becoming more
conscious of their own interests rather than the welfare of the society in the
present changing world, Shri Basu Kumar emphasized the need to have dedicated
leadership in all walks of life. He called upon the government employees to
continue to fight against the injustice in the society. P.Banerjee and SC Biswas, former
