PRESS STATEMENT
A delegation from the Non-Gazetted
Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands led by Shri D.
Ayyappan, General Secretary met the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration today
(25.07.2013) and discussed with him
various issues relating to the government employees working under the
Administration. The issues
raised by the Association are (1) To extend
the upgraded Grade Pay under Part B to the left-out categories of
Teachers/miscellaneous teachers viz., H.M., PETs, Librarians, CIs, PSRTs,
etc, (2) To take up with Govt. of India
the demand for upgraded Grade Pay for LGCs and HGCs (3) Immediate Restructuring
of Forest Clerical Cadre, Amalgamated Stenographic Cadre and Amalgamated
Statistical Cadre (4) Construction of more residential
accommodation (5) Renovation of
residential accommodation, (6) Delay in
filling up of vacant posts – both promotional posts and direct recruitment (7) Timely grant of financial upgradation
under MACP (8) To settle all the
anomaly/disparity arising out of the implementation of 6th CPC in A & N Islands (9)
Grant of ISDA to teachers during summer vacation (10) Regularisation of all
adhoc/contract/ DRM employees & workers (11) Publishing of result of
written exam for MTS (12) Providing alternate accommodation at Port Blair for
Ajantha Mess old building occupants,
etc.
The Chief Secretary patiently heard
the points and assured early action.
Secretary (Perl) was also present in the meeting. The other members of the delegation were (1)
Shri TS Sreekumar, Asst. Gen Secretary, (2) Shri AK Sharma, Finance Secretary
(3) Shri R. Surendran Pillai, Secretary, South Andaman Teachers’ Branch, Shri
PN Shibu Kumar, Secretry, Clerical Cadre Branch and Shri Anand Raj, Secretary,
Secretariat Sub-Committee of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association.
