PRESS STATEMENT
A meeting of the Central Secretariat of
the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers' Association was held today (22.12.2012) at
Crusade House, Phoenix Bay. The meeting reviewed the campaign carried out
by the Association among government employees during the last 2-3 months. In a
resolution adopted in the meeting, the Association noted that a large number of
issues of government employees and workers working under the Andaman and
Nicobar Administration are pending with the Govt. of India and A & N
Administration for settlement. The meeting noted that resentment among the
employees are growing in the islands due to the inaction on the part of the
Govt. of India and A & N Administration on the genuine pending demands. The
meeting noted that demands of the Association for (i) upgraded pay for LGC and
HGC (ii) introduction of Non-Functional Selection Grade for Higher Grade Clerks
who have completed 5 years' of service in the Grade Pay of Rs 4200/-, (iii)
upgraded Grade Pay under Part B for left-out categories of teachers (iv)
illegal and arbitrary denial of Island Special Duty Allowance to teachers
during summer vacation (v) restructuring of Forest Clerical Cadre, Stenographic
Cadre and Statistical Cadre (vi) Construction of more
residential accommodation for government employees etc. are yet to be
considered by the Govt. of India and A & N Administration. Sadanand Rai,
Vice President of the Association presided over the meeting. D.Ayyappan,
General Secretary spoke on the occasion.
